It often happens that stud bolts are so corroded that they cannot be loosened using conventional methods. The Bolt Inductor is a water-cooled induction machine that heats the corroded stud bolt to a temperature between 850ºC and 1000ºC within a few seconds. At this temperature the studbolt sheet turns red, after which it can be quickly removed. Alternative methods such as splitting nuts or cutting the stud bolt entail many risks and these activities can take a lot of time.
When using the Bolt Inductor, it is important that all safety measures are taken, such as wearing anti-static and fire-retardant work clothing, safety shoes, goggles, gloves and wearing a half or full face mask (for gases released during the combustion of the lubricant). And before starting the work, completing the LMRA is mandatory.
